Richardson 111 — the 112, garment washed and unstructured

Start with the cap everyone in this business already knows: the 112. Now take the structure out of the back, drop the crown to a relaxed profile, and run the whole thing through a heritage garment wash. That's the 111.

Two things change and both matter. The garment wash means it arrives soft — no break-in period, slightly faded tone, the look a cap normally takes a season to earn. And the unstructured soft-mesh back sits down instead of standing up, so it wears casual rather than sharp.

That combination sells where a crisp uniform cap doesn't. Breweries, coffee roasters, marinas, guide services, bands, lifestyle brands — anywhere the cap is merchandise a customer chooses rather than gear a company issues. Front is 100% cotton twill, back is 100% polyester soft mesh, precurved bill, snapback closure.

Decorating

Washed twill suits embroidery, leather patches, woven labels, and transfers. Leather in particular reads well against a washed finish — the vintage tone and the patch reinforce each other. Washed fabric is more forgiving than stiff twill on dense fills, but back a heavy design or it can pull. Run a sample before a full run.
